I am a gardener who moved to Kerala with my family 4 years ago. Last year, the Amar Saath community organized a medical camp during which my wife was suspected of having thyroid cancer, necessitating a thyroidectomy. The Amar Saath team provided both financial and emotional support during the difficult time. She received good treatment, and today we are all happy by the grace of God.

Four years ago, my mother and I moved from Nepal to Kerala. At that time, I was studying in 8th standard. When we moved, I didn’t know malayalam, and I was hesitant to go to school and mingle with friends. I had a great fear of inclusiveness. However, the Amar Saath community was kind and helpful, supporting me in my education journey. Now I am pursuing my studies in Kerala to become a cabin crew.

My name is Mohammad, but the locals call me Aakri wala. Our group typically collects items from the garbage and makes a living by selling these. Unfortunately, society often views us in a negative light. However, Sudhakar bhayi from Amar Saath showed kindness and love by giving clothes for me and my friends from Thrift store. This gesture of compassion will forever remain in my memory.

After migrating from Nepal with my family, I used to work in restaurants. But my working hours were long and, in many days, I missed out play time with my two small kids. Realizing the importance of balancing work and family life, I sought out ironing training from Amar Saath. Now, equipped with new skills, I am in the process of establishing an ironing centre near my home in Kochi. I am grateful for the opportunity to develop this skill.
